about me

Wesley

Hello there!

I am a product designer, but I didn’t start out as one! After graduating with a Computer Science degree, I started my career as a technical writer at a health tech startup company. I was kind of lost, honestly. But in that role, I discovered UX design, and a lightbulb went off in my brain. For the years that followed, I slowly changed into a proficient self-taught UI/UX designer. I worked at that health tech company as a UI designer for a while, before jumping to General Motors as a dedicated product designer.

In general, my career so far can be summarized by simplifying systems from complex industries (like healthcare, automotive, and logistics) into simple and usable products. From my background in technology and business, I have become an asset in client meetings, I love to catch details about functionality that people may miss, and make sure everything is accounted for. I care about making products that are thoughtfully designed and fully functional.

Currently, I’m looking to join a design studio that values what I value. I want to bring my unique perspective to a creative team, and stretch my legs in areas like branding, 3D modeling and motion.

Beyond product design, I’m interested in exploring 3D design and visual storytelling, experimenting with tools like Blender and Calvary. In addition, I love photography – I started taking photos during a vacation to Portugal in 2019 and I never stopped. Ask me about street photography sometime.

Let’s make something great together. Reach out, and let’s talk.
